Business: As an essential link in the food supply chain, with several major North East food processing customers, we continue to operate but as far as possible from home using our normal on-line administrative resources.
Factory: this is open only for booked in deliveries from suppliers and our own outgoing deliveries which are consolidated and made 2 or 3 days each week.
Stocks: Since the Brexit vote we have maintained significantly higher levels of stock than before which stood us in good stead to meet the current crisis. Prior to the lockdown we secured deliveries and forward ordering to give us about 4 – 6 months normal supplies for most products.
Customers: All customers are advised to hold about 2 weeks stock on site and to continue normal routine ordering. This represents the advised isolation period should we be adversely affected.
Hygiene: We are observing all Government advised procedures including social distancing so far as is practicable during deliveries.
Servicing: We are not carrying out routine servicing at present unless specifically arranged and under controlled circumstances. Urgent repairs will be reviewed for action on a discretionary basis and not at all if more than 30 miles from the Tyne Bridge. Similarly our Ship in / out service is suspended. – These steps are taken to reduce potential spread of infection.
Machinery: We can take enquiries for new and used equipment as normal and delivery and commissioning arrangements will be discussed individually for each customer.
